All prospective international teaching assistants TAs whose first language is not English are required to take the TA Language Evaluation in order to be certified for sole classroom teaching responsibility. The Language Evaluation requires the prospective TA to give a brief oral presentation in English and respond to questions from a panel of department and EMS faculty.
