I've been negged into oblivion on this site for saying Storm should never be unbanned for the last like 2 years. The game is at a point of no return as far as power level goes, Storm just makes everything unfair. Mutavault I was cool with last year's nats without storm and I used plants were I set like backrow if that even. Only really dumb field was vs. Indignation Nate And it was common as fuck that format. JJ Snatch Fuck Heavy Storm. My opponents always seem to have it along with the nuts when I've either got no way of stopping it or have to waste security in order to get over it.
From there, I just get my shit pushed in by the rest of their ridiculous hand. Like Vortex, you had to hit at minimum 2 cards to break even. So something along the line of Destroy all face down Spells and Traps on the field. Randy This is what you would call one of dem paradoxes of Yugioh.
Like you could have shining, a backrow like d-prison. Then they go top Dragonfly with no cards and win outright. Or top Rat and drop your hand and clear your board. I'm waiting for ygo to be a "game" again. Also for arguments sake, lets also say that with Heavy Storm being banned, Rescue Rabbit gets Limited.
Despite all of the airtight arguments proving why Solemn in its older contexts was more skillful than that time period's New Power Level - and how "more skillful should always lead to protecting a card from punishment at all costs" - Solemn took the fall so that "dumber" cards could live.
HS taking the fall would just be another repeat of that. Unlike the rest of you, I'm happy to let Heavy stay just so folks can get wrecked by problematic decks - just like I was happy to let Solemns stay for the same reason. Heavy is not the "badly designed card" in the story just because we decide to ban it. That is foolish. We have to examine cards on their merits: and Heavy does more for a good game than, frankly, a gargantuan field of other cards.
Seldom do cards do that - and those that play it best handle the scenario best. As for the catch of either being Heavy'd or MST'd, I played back in the past before MST's first time ever limited, and while it was as much of a catch then and possibly even easier to fuck someone royally - it was pre-banlist , we took it as a desirable fact of life.
We required Heavy as a means of preventing simplistic use of multiple simultaneous STs always working, as well. They can be Summoned as monsters to attack or defend, or you can activate them as Spell Cards in your Pendulum Zones to activate extra special abilities and allow you to Pendulum Summon!
If the activation of a Spell or Trap Card is negated, that card is sent to the Graveyard after the entire Chain it was activated in resolves if it has not already been moved somewhere, but it is not treated as being sent from the field. Heavy Storm was released way back in Metal Raiders which came out in This card was amazing and ended up getting banned for good in September Self-Destruct Button It was only banned because it was poorly designed and impeded the progress of the game.
As long as the activation and effect of "Bait Doll" are not negated, the effect of "Bait Doll" that shuffles it back into the Deck still resolves. Big Bang Shot : The effect of "Big Bang Shot" that removes the equipped monster from play can be resolved between steps of a chain.
So if it is destroyed in the middle of a chain, you cannot return it to your hand. Example: If the turn player activates "Pot of Greed", and the opponent chains "Mystical Space Typhoon" to destroy "Butterfly Dagger - Elma" during the chain, it cannot return to the owner's hand. Once on the field it cannot be switched from monster to Spell Card or vice versa Curse of Royal : You can use Curse of Royal against cards like Ectoplasmer : You can chain "Mystical Space Typhoon" But you can re-direct it to target and destroy "Fiend's Hand Mirror".
Fusion Sword Murasame Blade : If the opponent chains "Mystical Space Typhoon" to the activation of this card, this card is destroyed before its effect can be applied. Gearfried the Swordmaster : The Equip Card must be successfully equipped to "Gearfried the Swordmaster" to activate his effect.
For example, if "Mystical Space Typhoon" is chained to the activation of an Equip Card, it is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard before resolving, so the effect of "Gearfried the Swordmaster" does not activate.
Giant Kozaky : If "Giant Kozaky" is equipped to "Relinquished" and is destroyed by "Mystical Space Typhoon" or the effect of "Relinquished", the effect of "Giant Kozaky" will inflict damage to the controller. Gravekeeeper's Assailant : If "Necrovalley" is on the field, an attack is declared with "Gravekeeper's Assailant", and the effect of "Gravekeeper's Assailant" is activated, and "Mystical Space Typhoon" is chained to the effect to destroy "Necrovalley", the effect of "Gravekeeper's Assailant" is still applied because "Necrovalley" only had to be on the field to activate the effect.
Gorz the Emissary of Darkness : If you activate " Mystical Space Typhoon " and your opponent chains " Judgment of Anubis ", if they destroy the only monster you control with its effect and inflict damage to your Life Points, you can start a new Chain by activating the effect of " Gorz the Emissary of Darkness " if you don't control any cards.
If your Draw Phase was skipped for some reason, you can still activate "Mystical Space Typhoon" to destroy "Mirage of Nightmare" before activating the effect of "Mirage of Nightmare" that will force you to discard.
